Geoffrey Bouchard: “Unimaginable”
“I had a tough day, the hardest since the start of the Vuelta, but the important thing is that I'm still in contention! Three weeks ago, I never imagined I would finish the Vuelta the best climber's jersey. I just wanted to complete my first Grand tour
AG2R LA MONDIALE. I don't really realize it yet, especially when I see the guys ahead of me in the rankings! Yesterday, Thomas De Gendt came to congratulate me, which felt a little strange. I started thinking about this jersey on the evening of the ninth stage in Andorra, where I had spent two mountain passes and thirty kilometers in the lead. I'd like to thank my friends who helped me every day in my quest for this jersey. Now it's off to Madrid, where I'm going to enjoy this last stage and the podium with the leaders of this Vuelta. It's crazy!"[/su_quote]
