“It was a pretty tough day, very grueling, but I knew this course could suit me, especially that slightly uphill finish. The team had faith in me and really worked hard. I want to thank them; I was determined to finish in the best possible way: with a victory. The whole team was eager to do well, especially Émilien Jacquelin, who—in his second professional race—helped us control the breakaway. I really wanted to win after coming close to victory several times. I rode with that motivation to experience that joy once again.”
