“I'm happy, even though it's always better to win. It was a difficult finish that I wasn't familiar with, tailor-made for punchers and climbers. My legs are strong and the team did a great job of getting me into position. Mollema launched the sprint 600 m from the finish, I stayed on Ciccone's wheel and there was a breakaway. This kind of race, with quite a few climbs, is ideal for perfecting your condition ahead of the classics. Getting a good result is always good for the team's morale and for mine."
