Tobias Lund Andresen
“I was so close to winning”
“I was so close to winning; I’m a little disappointed with my sprint because I felt really good, but making it onto the podium here is already a source of satisfaction. It sounds like a cliché, but the team was incredible. You tell yourself it’s probably impossible to catch those two—it’s Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert, not just anyone—so catching up to them is really impressive and shows our collective strength. Cees Bol did a superb job, holding his line and positioning me perfectly for the sprint. The Tour of Flanders on Wednesday is my next goal, my final race of the Classics season, and one last chance to give it my all there.”

Just like Tobias Lund Andresen’s finish at Gent-Wevelgem. It’s a historic achievement that surpasses the team’s previous best result in this classic: in 2019, Oliver Naesen took third place.
