"It's great to get this result after a complicated year. The victory was not far away but Groupama-FDJ played very well in the final and Valentin Madouas was strong.
We had a great day as a team and it's nice to be rewarded with a podium finish. Personally, I felt great during this stage. I'm happy to have managed to get back to this level after breaking my finger on August 3 during the second stage of the Vuelta Burgos. It bodes well for the future.
We will try to get a stage win but we will also try to get a good final overall classification. Even though the individual time trial (26.1km) will make good gaps, it's always interesting to have taken a few bonus seconds."[/su_quote]
