“It’s always satisfying to win, but it’s even more so after a tough stretch. I was well positioned at the front of the pack in the final stretch, but I lost my teammates in the last few meters. In the end, I got on Tim Merlier’s wheel, closed the gap little by little, and it was just enough to cross the line as the bike was being thrown. On the final tour, the breakaway still had a decent lead, so we had to push hard from behind, and the team did a great job.”
