Oliver Naesen: “I did my best”

“I have no regrets. I did everything I could to get on the podium. I never approached the race the wrong way. In the sprint, I had room to make my effort. I was never able to get past Julian's rear wheel. I saw who was going to win Milan-San Remo and there was nothing I could do about it. It's a strange feeling! I feel very strong at the moment, I'm not stressed at all. I feel comfortable and I try to make sure my teammates feel the same way. We rode well together all day and got through the Cipressa perfectly. After a very good Paris-Nice, I expected to be at the front today. With the legs I have at the moment, I can't wait for the Flemish classics next week with the E3 BinckBank Classic and Gent-Wevelgem."
