Greg Van Avermaet
"There is emotion "
"I'm very happy. There is emotion. Winning is a really special feeling and it's been a long time since I've put my arms up (his last win was the 2019 Montreal Grand Prix). It's what we all look for when we start a race.
The French Cup rounds are not easy to read but today we managed perfectly with the team. Bastien (Tronchon) was in front for a long time. In the final pack, Clément (Venturini ) attacked very hard and that put everyone in line, it was perfect for me. On a finish like this one, a bit punchy, I can still do great things. And I managed to win. Since the beginning of my professional career, I have done my job 100% every moment. The last few years have not been easy but I have always remained motivated. I'm very happy to raise my arms for the first time in the AG2R CITROËN team jersey, it's a nice way to thank them. I have a few races left before the end of my career and I still want to get results. This gives me confidence. Next week, I will be racing the 4 days of Dunkerque. There are two finishes that may suit me. We'll see how it goes. I already want to enjoy this successful weekend!"

Giro : Aurélien Paret-Peintre fifteenth overall after nine stages
Aurélien Paret-Peintre, winner at Lago Laceno (stage 4), is in fifteenth place in the overall classification of Giro after the first nine stages. "The second time trial on Sunday marks the end of the first part of this Giro ,"notesDidier Jannel, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team. We can say that the team has had a successful start to tour Grand tour.
Aurélien's victory is, of course, a great achievement. It ticks one of the team's objectives for this Giro. The best climber's jersey won by Paul (Lapeira) in the second stage is another. His withdrawal (due to illness) and Andrea's (Vendrame) crash, on the other hand, are slightly more negative points from these first nine days. We will start the second week with a committed and motivated group, ready to seize every opportunity to move up the rankings and also help Aurélien achieve a good overall classification.
The mountains are coming and there is still a long way to go."
