Aurélien Paret-Peintre
"I'm proud of what I've achieved".
"I am really proud of what I have achieved in this Giro . It is hugely satisfying to have been able to raise my arms in victory in a Grand tour. I have fulfilled my objective with a good place in the general classification too. The whole AG2R CITROËN team was in the right frame of mind. We took risks during these three weeks of racing and played an active role, like in the breakaway with my brother Valentin on stage 16. That day, even though I lost time on the other favorites, I took control of my own destiny. I arrive in Rome with no regrets. My legs felt good during these three weeks, which gives me the appetite to continue this momentum throughout the season."

"More than positive results
"We came to this Giro with the ambition of winning a stage and achieving the best possible overall classification. We achieved this with Aurélien Paret-Peintre. His success on stage 4 boosted the confidence of the whole team and created a great dynamic around him. I want to highlight the commitment of all the riders staff during the three weeks, who never let up. For three weeks, the AG2R CITROËN team took an offensive approach, increasing its presence in breakaways. We were bold and opportunistic, and it paid off. We also finished fifth in the team classification, our best result since 2018. This proves what a great Giro as a team. We had a young team at the start with riders their first Grand tour we never felt intimidated. Aurélien was an exemplary leader and was able to rally everyone around him. The outcome is more than positive."
