After several months of training with the NewGen program—highlighted in particular by a “ high-altitude training camp ” in July at the Arc 1950 resort—Émilien Jacquelin is set to take the next step in his journey. He will make his professional debut with the DECATHLON CMA CGM team in two demanding races on the French calendar: the Polynormande (August 16), followed by the Tour du Limousin (August 18–21).
The goal will be to continue improving at the highest level while contributing to the team’s collective goals.

"An important first step, with the determination to give it my all for the team"
“These two call-ups represent an important milestone in my career, and I’m determined to give my all for the team. They are the culmination of several months of hard work during which I’ve done everything I could to be ready for this event. I’m aware of the opportunity I’ve been given, but I prefer to set my emotions aside so I can stay focused on what I need to do in the race. Right now, I have only one priority: to keep improving and deliver for the team in these first professional races.”

"Émilien has met the requirements to move on to this next stage."
“Émilien has been training hard recently, with a challenging high-altitude training camp in Arc 1950. We’ve seen nothing but positive results from it, as he had time to build his physical strength and complete a series of training sessions in the mountains. We decided to have him race right after the camp, knowing he’d be tired, to see how his body would react. The performance data we collected confirmed that his preparation was on point. Given his steady progress, he’s met the requirements to compete in the Polynormande and the Tour du Limousin. These are two demanding races, but they’re well-suited to his profile. “The goal will be for him to blend into the team, contribute as much as possible, and learn how to manage such races at the professional level. Once that’s done, we’ll be able to say that part of the project has been validated. Analyzing these two races will allow us to discuss the next steps together.”
