Paul Lapeira wins the Tour Alpes-Maritimes!
What a race, what a victory! This Sunday in Biot, Paul Lapeira demonstrated his tactical skills and power to clinch victory in the Tour Alpes-Maritimes.
While Lenny Martinez and Germany's Marco Brenner seemed to be heading for a duel for victory, watching each other closely in the final few hundred meters, our Norman rider had not yet had his final say. With just over 500 meters to go, he launched a lightning acceleration to catch up with the two breakaway riders. Unable to respond to his effort, Martinez and Brenner had to resign themselves to watching him fly away to victory.
Paul was keen to praise the remarkable work of Antoine L'Hote and Aurélien Paret-Peintre, without whom none of this would have been possible. But it was also thanks to his burning legs and ability to push his limits in the final effort that he made the difference. Behind him, Christian Scaroni, Simon Carr, and Marco Brenner completed the top four, finishing two seconds behind.
Well done Paul, and thank you to the whole team for a great race! This is the team's sixth victory of the season.

Paul Lapeira: “Happy to be back to winning ways”
"I'm really happy to have gone for the win today. My legs felt great and I felt good on the climb to Gourdon, I knew I could win. Aurélien (Paret-Peintre) and Antoine (L'Hôte) put me in the perfect position to catch up with the riders the front. In the final, I told myself I had to attack right from the start. I took risks and gave it my all to catch up with our opponents, but it was worth it. It was a very intense race all day long, which makes this result even more satisfying."
