"The time trial was difficult, there was a lot of wind. We were getting swept from right to left, but you had to hold the bike steady and push hard on the pedals. I got off to a fast start, as there was a headwind at the start and then a side wind. In terms of power, I rode a very decent time trial, so I couldn't have done much better today. I'm happy to be in the top 10, I've honoured my French time trial champion's jersey."

Aurélien Paret-Peintre finished seventh in the sixth stage of Tour Pologne, in the same group as winner Thibau Nys and leader Jonas Vingegaard. The Haut-Savoyard gained three places in the general classification, where he is now in thirteenth position on the eve of the final stage. "It was the second queen stage of Tour Pologne, and I'm happy with how I felt. The team positioned me well at the foot of the hills and supported me well throughout the day. My legs feel good, which bodes well for the end of the season."

This is Bruno Armirail's sixth top 10 finish in a time trial this season: before his ninth place today, he won the French championship in June, finished fifth in the Tour Romandie time trial in April, eighth in Paris-Nice in March and the Critérium du Dauphiné in June, and ninth in the UAE Tour February.
