"Brittany suits me well
"We had to be patient during this Tour Finistère. The team took responsibility right from the start of the race with Oscar (Chamberlain). Then we decided not to ride anymore because there weren't many of us in the peloton and other teams took over. Circumstances meant that we were in contention for the win despite there being a very strong breakaway. In the final, everything went very well with Tom (Donnenwirth) launching me in the last kilometer. I was able to maneuver well in the sprint to win. Brittany suits me well after winning the Grand Prix du Morbihan last week. I'm leading the Coupe de France, which is good news. It's not necessarily a goal, but it's races like this that will allow me to be high in the rankings, so I'm happy about that."

Key number
While Valentin Paret-Peintre was a key player in the Giro today, two riders the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE team finished in the top 10 of the eighth stage: Ben O'Connor in third place and Alex Baudin in tenth. "I'm really happy with how the stage went," said the Australian. " The team was very strong, I was surrounded by my teammates the whole time. I gave it my all for the final sprint. I followed Daniel Martinez's wheel, trying to find an opening to overtake him. Third place is a good result in a mountain finish on the Giro. I hope to do even better next time."
In the overall standings, Ben O'Connor consolidates his fourth place and Alex Baudin, now the first Frenchman, moves up to thirteenth.
