Aurélien Paret-Peintre
"A good start after an intense stage".
"I'm happy with the result. I knew it was a good finish that suited my qualities. The team worked very well all day and Callum Scotson placed me perfectly at the top of the last difficulty. The descent was twisty and made for some breaks, but I was in the right race movement to go for the stage going into the last kilometer. I started my sprint in Matthew Brennan's wake, but he soon pulled away. In the end, it's a fine second place in a WorldTour race, so I have no regrets. We also took a 6-second bonus. Even if it's not necessarily significant given the difficulties ahead, it's still positive and we'll try to do at least as well tomorrow."
