It was a very fast day and the whole team did a great job to get into a good position at the foot of the final climb. We managed our effort with Victor (Lafay) at first. Then Victor managed to follow Tim Wellens' attack 2km from the finish. For my part, I was able to let the other teams do the work to catch up with the leading duo. Unfortunately, we lacked a little freshness to keep up with Lennert Van Eetvelt and Oscar Onley, who flew away to victory. I'm happy with my performance and this great third place. Victor finished fourth. We're both lying in wait for the overall classification. We'll try again tomorrow."

After finishing fourth in the first stage of Giro , Alex Baudin claimed his first WorldTour podium finish in a stage race. With a strong final climb, Alex took third place in the stage and in the overall classification.
