"Finish on the podium in the overall standings"

“The team has had a very strong start to the season with solid results, both in sprints and in the mountains. As we approach this new phase of the season—the Grand Tours—our goal is to build on this momentum and build on these strong performances. We’re coming into this race with two main objectives. We want to reach the podium in the general classification with Felix Gall. Felix has had a strong preparation, with solid performances at the UAE Tour in Catalonia, and has been able to prepare optimally for the Giro. Gregor Mühlberger, Callum Scotson, and Johannes Staune-Mittet are also in good form and will be invaluable in supporting him in the mountains. In the sprints, Tobias Lund Andresen has already shown excellent form this season with three WorldTour wins, and we’ll be aiming for stage victories with him. Tord Gudmestad, Rasmus Søjberg Pedersen, and Oliver Naesen will be key assets in getting him to the sprint at the end of the stages. Overall, several opportunities should arise, and the goal will be to turn as many of them as possible into victories.”

Key number

That’s the number of stage wins the team has secured at the Giro. Half of those victories (4) came in the last three editions (Aurélien Paret-Peintre in 2023, Valentin Paret-Peintre and Andrea Vendrame in 2024, and Nicolas Prodhomme in 2025).  Composed of riders of winning both in sprints and in the mountains, the DECATHLON CMA CGM team will aim to continue its winning streak in the 2026 edition.
