BENOIT COSNEFROY: “We took responsibility.”

«Before the start, I had marked this stage. I knew it suited me perfectly. Today, the team took responsibility for putting me in the best possible position. In the end, my teammates did an amazing job, and all I had to do was finish the job. It was perfect, we couldn't have imagined anything better. I'm happy to win on this type of effort, which suits me. Yesterday, I was in the breakaway during the mountain stage and I didn't feel great. I really wanted to win, it's my third victory of the season. It's important for the team, it shows everyone the way forward. Collectively, what we achieved today gives me more than satisfaction. Despite a very long break, we quickly got back into our rhythm.» [/su_quote]

Stéphan Goubert's assessment

«After training at altitude, we knew we would be competitive but not necessarily among the very best. Yesterday, during the mountain stage, the guys already gave me a pleasant surprise. Clément Venturini in the sprints, then Romain Bardet had already shown some great things in the early stages. Our goal for the Tour d'Occitane was to get back into the swing of things, and we can leave satisfied, with Benoît's victory to top it all off. Everyone played their part, we were a great team, and that's what I want to remember.»
