Oliver Naesen: «Getting the team into a positive dynamic»
«It was a very tough day. I knew I was in a strong group. We needed a bit of luck. It's not a victory, not even a podium finish, but it was important to get the team into a positive mindset. I believed in it right up until the red flag. With the chasing group, we couldn't afford to relax. You never know, if the two leaders had looked at each other, it could have turned in our favour. Romain Bardet: «Many memories came flooding back.»
«I've been cycling for nineteen years. It's always good to go back to my roots, and lots of memories came flooding back. Today, I received a lot of support, which will help me for the rest of the Tour. I tried to seize an opportunity on roads I know well. Unfortunately, I found myself facing a headwind. I'm satisfied with my performance and that of the team. This is how I want to approach the race. The start of the Tour wasn't good, but we're going to fight until the end. We still hope to be among the leaders.»[/su_quote]
