Greg Van Avermaet: «I gave it my all.»

«There was a strong group of eight riders who broke away, and it could have gone a long way, but in the end, not everyone was interested in riding. So I set off on my own, luckily joined by Kluge. We worked well together. I gave it my all to get as far as possible. We had a 40-second lead for a long time, but with the peloton hot on our heels and the sprinters determined to battle it out before the more difficult stages, it wasn't possible. I'm happy to have made it onto the podium for the combativity award.»

The information

The Vivons Vélo event will take place on Saturday between Oyonnax and Le Grand-Bornand.

As part of Vivons Vélo Day, the team's riders will cycle between Oyonnax and Le Grand-Bornand on Saturday 3 July for a good cause.
The 1,208 kilometres they will cover will be converted by our partner AG2R LA MONDIALE into donations for the Pasteur Institute.
In addition, gatherings open to all are being held throughout France so that people can join the cyclists in this charitable initiative. Here too, all the kilometres covered by cycle tourists on Saturday will be converted into donations by AG2R LA MONDIALE for the Pasteur Institute.
