«The weather made this last day more difficult than it looked on paper. The lads did a tremendous job throughout the stage to protect me. With the rain, the finish was tense and the crash a few kilometres from the finish line threw everything into disarray.
I'm happy with how I feel after four days of racing. The first stage is where I got the best result, but it's not where I felt my best. I've been stepping up the pressure day by day this week, which bodes well for the upcoming Ardennes classics.
