«The lads were incredible and Oliver (Naesen) did a fantastic job, we were in a really good position. At the end, I was coasting for the last 200 to 250 metres waiting for it to open up, but it never did. I never got out, so it's quite frustrating after 230 kilometres. In a way, it's good to know that it was possible to win today, but on the other hand, it's quite frustrating because there are only seven chances left.»

«Unfortunately, we lost Bruno. (Armirail) firstly due to a puncture, then he arrived at a roundabout and fell 6.6 km from the finish line. After Dorian (Godon) and Paul (Lapeira) did a very good job and Oliver (Naesen) was incredible, he replaces Sam (Bennett) less than 350 metres from the line. Sam felt it was a tad too early, so naturally he slowed down a little. Then we thought he had the opening, but then it closed again. It's a shame, because objectively I think he had the podium in his legs, or even better.»
