«I had cramps in the last lap, but I gave it my all. Brieuc Rolland attacked 1.5 kilometres from the finish line, and I immediately made the effort to catch up with him. In the last 300 metres, I was alongside Pascal Eenkhoorn. I waited for him to turn around to launch my sprint and take the lead, and it worked. It wasn't the plan to race like that, but I know it's a race where the breakaway has a chance to go all the way. Today we had a good group at the front with some strong riders, we managed to break away from the peloton and we quickly realised that we were going to go for the win. But we had to be strong because it was a tough day. It's incredible to win again in front of my home crowd after the French championships, this time with the tricolour jersey on my shoulders.»
