«I really wanted to enjoy myself today. For the past two weeks, I've felt that I was in good shape. I attacked from a long way out, which wasn't necessarily the plan at the start, and it was far from a sure thing. Sometimes you have to take a chance, and this time it worked! This isn't my first victory as a professional. I already won the Grand Prix d'Isbergues in 2017, but today feels even better. I'm in my home region, and I heard my name being shouted from the roadside all day long. Most of my family was there, and I'm really happy to have been able to get the job done. In the final, I managed to catch up with Kevin Geniets two kilometres from the finish. I know him well, we raced together at Chambéry Cyclisme Formation. With 49 points, the AG2R LA MONDIALE team consolidated its first place in the overall French Cup standings after the sixth round. In the individual standings, Benoît Cosnefroy is third with 50 points, Clément Venturini is eighth with 42 points.
