«This year, I just can't seem to get off the mark. I was labelled the favourite, so I had to race accordingly. I tried to lay low by running behind. The last time a stage was contested on this course, a peloton of forty riders finished in a sprint. I ran a little out of sync, but it was also a way of managing the situation and running as efficiently as possible, even though I had to make two efforts in the last lap.
We had a solid race with a great team. I came second. Overall, it was a pretty good result.»
