Marc Sarreau

«A real relief»

«It's a real relief to get my first win of the season. Until now, I've had a difficult year, disrupted by health problems. I was still ill before the start of the Tour Poitou-Charentes in Nouvelle Aquitaine. I was looking for confidence and good vibes, and this win validates all the hard work. I'm really happy. It's the perfect way to move forward for the last part of the season, where I'll be ambitious.
The Tour Poitou-Charentes in Nouvelle Aquitaine is a race that suits me well. This is already my sixth stage win here. This last stage was really difficult. The peloton rode hard all day to set up a bunch sprint finish. My teammates put me in a great position on the main climb of the final circuit. Behind them, I trusted my instincts for the sprint. It was a demanding finish, so I chose to make my effort as late as possible. That strategy paid off.»
