Stan Dewulf: «The best possible result today»
«It was a race with a lot of movement. An early breakaway was formed quickly with three riders from the AG2R CITROËN team: Clément Venturini, Paul Lapeira and Valentin Paret Peintre. After a great battle, I was then able to make the decisive breakaway with a group of nine riders to fight for the victory. We battled with the peloton on this difficult course. Third place today is objectively the best result I could have hoped for given my current form. My legs felt better than yesterday, but I didn't feel extraordinary either. There's no doubt that my victory in this race last year gave me the confidence to finish on the podium today.»

Giro d'Italia (Stage 15): Mikael Chérel finishes 41st
Mikaël Chérel in the breakaway of the day.
«Today's stage was ideal for attackers. I managed to get into a good breakaway with Nicolas Prodhomme, another rider from the AG2R CITROËN team. The best riders went all the way, but I quickly realised that I was lacking energy. The first two weeks of this Giro d'Italia have been difficult, I didn't have very good legs today, I rode to the best of my ability. No regrets today, we'll try again in the third week,» said Mikaël Chérel.
