«A dream day»
«I'm really happy, my legs were up to the task. It's quite rare for me to be able to compete in my national championship, as it often clashes with big races like the Tour de Suisse. The course was fairly flat, as is often the case in Finland, but with a small hill at the end. The plan was to break away on that final hill, thirty kilometres from the finish, to avoid a sprint finish. That's what I managed to do by going solo and managing the gap with the fastest riders in the final. I'm so happy to have had the chance to take part in this race, and with the jersey at the finish, it's been a dream day.»
