[su_quote cite=Geoffrey Bouchard] «When Laurent Fignon won this jersey (1984), I wasn't even born yet. Few Frenchmen have won this classification, so I realise that it's no small feat. I haven't quite taken it in yet; I think it will take me a few more days. I took the jersey on the evening of the ninth stage. That day, I was very disappointed to have been caught 400 metres from the finish line, and the jersey wasn't a goal. I patiently went after the points and didn't want to give it up. I consolidated it day after day. I had a great day at the front with Andrea Vendrame (winner of stage 12) and from that moment on, we rode without pressure. After the Vuelta (2019), I'm proud to bring this jersey home for my third Grand Tour. I'm starting to build up a nice collection!»[/su_quote]
