«I felt better and better every day.»

«Before the race, I knew I wasn't in the same shape as last year. We did less intensity and more volume in training, but the week went well. I was hoping for a little more, especially today because I felt really good at the start of the climb, but I'm lacking the last few per cent needed to maintain a high pace for longer. I felt better and better every day, which is promising for the Tour de France.»
