I've struggled a bit these past few weeks with a difficult programme. It was intentional, to challenge myself against the strongest competitors and make more progress, and it paid off today.
Fabien (Doubey) was very strong, but I didn't give up until the very end. I used my strengths in the physical aspects of the game to prevail.
The main thing was to win, both for me and for the team. I'm very happy to see the blue, white and red colours back on the shirt. January is shaping up to be a good month.»

Clément Venturini will compete in three cyclo-cross races to finish the season: the UCI World Cups in Benidorm (22 January) and Besançon (29 January), followed by the UCI World Championships in Hoogerheide (if selected).
He will begin his road season at the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var (17 to 19 February).
