BOB JUNGELS: «It's incredible.»

«It's incredible! I don't know what to say. Winning a stage in the Tour de France was a dream after these last few difficult years. I'm very happy for myself, but also for the team. I know it means a lot to them.
The last few kilometres were very long, but I knew that victory was close and that I had to stay focused. I won after a solo effort, which is what I prefer. Today I took every risk and it paid off. I am very grateful to the AG2R CITROËN team and everyone who believed in me over the last few months. I am back to my best and that feels great.»

VINCENT LAVENU: «An immense joy»

«It's a huge joy after a very difficult start to the Tour de France with the misfortunes of Ben O'Connor and Geoffrey Bouchard. Bob is a great champion and he raced as he knows how. Over the past few months, he has regained his usual form. We needed this to boost the whole team and to validate the work of all our staff and partners. This is the 21st victory for the AG2R CITROËN team in the Tour de France, and these are always exceptional moments to experience with great emotion. We must appreciate them and enjoy them. This victory, after a solo breakaway of more than 60 kilometres, will go down in the team's history.»

BRUNO ANGLES Chief Executive Officer of AG2R LA MONDIAL

«On behalf of the directors and staff of AG2R LA MONDIALE, I would like to congratulate Bob Jungels and our entire team for this magnificent performance and for the intense emotions we experienced throughout this fantastic stage! We are extremely proud that our riders uphold our values of solidarity and performance so well. We are all following each stage with great enthusiasm and hope that this victory will lead to many more. We are not giving up!«

VINCENT COBEE, Chief Executive Officer of CITROËN

«Bob Jungels put in an exceptional performance, showing panache and courage to secure victory after a solo breakaway of more than 60 km. His return to the highest level after a difficult 2021 season illustrates his resilience, worthy of a true champion. This victory is a source of immense pride for all of us, and I warmly congratulate Bob Jungels and Vincent Lavenu on behalf of the men and women at CITROËN. This magnificent victory shows how strong the fighting spirit and desire to win remain within the team, and we are right behind them to encourage them.»
