Aurélien Paret-Peintre

«A perfect way to end the team's wonderful week.»

«I knew I was one of the fastest riders in the group. I caught the right wave at the right time, then launched my sprint with 200 metres to go. I could see straight away that I was the strongest, so I didn't look back until I crossed the line. I'm happy to win here, this victory is a perfect way to end a great week for the team, with Ben (O'Connor) also finishing second in the overall classification. We've developed some good habits this week, which validates the work we did during the training camp on Mount Etna. We're a good group, everyone is working well together. We're going to keep up the momentum and hope to bring home some victories at the Giro.»

The information

«I'm proud of everyone.»

We can be very satisfied with having led the race, with having been aggressive and with probably having had the strongest team in the race today, so I am proud of everyone. Aurélien's victory is truly superb. He worked hard for me and then took his chance too, so a big congratulations to him. Now I'm going to take care of myself for the next two weeks, absorb all the work that's been done and go to the Giro with ambition.
