« I am very happy with this result, even though I finished two seconds off the podium, just behind the European time trial champion (Edoardo Affini). I felt really good, and it was a great time trial that suited me really well. I heard a lot of cheering, which carried me through the whole race. I even started a little too fast in the first two kilometres because I was so encouraged. It was a great moment, racing in the blue, white and red jersey, which gives you even more motivation. This result shows that I'm feeling good. With the team, we're going to continue to attack and be active in the race, because the goal is still to win a stage.»
