Already committed since 2017, the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE team and Oliver Naesen have confirmed their desire to continue their adventure together for the next two years.
Oliver Naesen has gradually established himself as one of the team's leaders, particularly in one-day races and cobbled classics, where he has demonstrated great consistency. He has become a road captain capable of guiding his leaders as well as the entire group in major stage races such as Paris-Nice, the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de France.
Since joining the team, Oliver Naesen has won the Belgian Championship and the Bretagne Classic, and finished second in Milan-Sanremo.
Oliver Naesen
«It's obvious that I will continue with DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE.»
«I didn't hesitate and quickly expressed my desire to stay with the team. I am very happy to be part of this environment. The sporting project motivates me enormously. We have big ambitions for the coming years and everything is in place to enable us to perform at the highest level. I know that I will also be able to count on high-quality equipment with Decathlon and Van Rysel on board. This was very important to me because mechanics are a hugely important aspect of cycling today. I have had many great races wearing the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE colours. I am very proud of this and I want to continue to bring the team great results and help my teammates, in my role as captain, in the biggest races as a leader or protector with calm, serenity and commitment.»
