Nicolas Prodhomme
“Victory favours the bold.”
«It's incredible. I still can't quite believe it. I started to believe it a few hundred metres from the finish line. It was a difficult day from the start. Dorian (Godon) put me in a good position on the first climb, but it was very steep and I wasn't sure I could hold my place in the breakaway. The more passes we went over, the better I felt, and on the Col de Joux my legs were responding well. I tried to manage my effort as much as possible so as not to suffer from the heat, and in the end, I told myself I had to go for it, that I had to be bold. I had nothing to lose and I was confident in my chances. The last few kilometres were very difficult, but I managed to hold on. I am very proud of this victory, which rewards not only the team but also my entire career.“
