«DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE wanted to structure the Medical Department by having a salaried doctor who would be regularly present with the team while also supporting young talent. This will allow us to get to know the riders better, have more time for them and monitor them in the best possible way. It's a very motivating challenge. I sensed a great dynamic within the management team, which is keen to move forward and implement new initiatives. As Director of the Medical Department, I will be responsible for coordinating the medical service (physiotherapists, osteopaths, nutritionists, mental coach, psychologist and doctors) with the various parts of the team.»
His career path:
Jacky Maillot joined the Cofidis cycling team in 2007 and then took over as head of the medical department for the Groupama-FDJ team in 2016. Alongside this role, Jacky Maillot was responsible for the medical care of the French mountain biking team for the Paris Olympic Games.
