Gree-Tour of Guangxi: Victor Lafay finishes second in the queen stage

Victor Lafay

«A satisfactory result.". »

«We knew there was a good result to be had today with this final climb, which suited my strengths and those of Aurélien (Paret-Peintre). The team did a great job of getting us into position at the foot of the climb, but unfortunately Aurélien crashed. I focused on the race, followed my rivals» moves and was able to count on Nans Peters' support to maintain the pace on the less steep section. I knew I had to make my move 300 metres from the finish line and not before. So I waited, and that's what allowed me to take second place. I'm satisfied with that, even though I think we could have done even better as a team with a bit more luck. I'm second in the overall standings on the eve of the final stage, and we're going to give it our all to go for the win tomorrow."
