Sam Bennett
«We must not leave the Giro without winning a stage.»
«I am very happy to be racing in Italy again, I have very fond memories of the country. The last time I took part in the Giro d'Italia, I was successful and I hope to continue that momentum. With three flat stages in the first week, there will be opportunities to win. We have a very good team for the sprints with the train that helped me win this year. On the more difficult days, with a smaller group, Dorian (Godon) and Andrea (Vendrame) can still be there and use their speed. I'm also leading the points classification, but the priority remains to win stages. We mustn't leave the Giro without winning a stage.»
Luke Roberts
«The main objective is to win a stage victory.»
«The main objective for this Giro d'Italia will be to win a stage. There will be several opportunities for Sam (Bennett) in the sprints. In smaller group finishes, we can count on riders like Andrea (Vendrame) and Dorian (Godon). For the mountain stages, the goal will be to get Nicolas (Prodhomme) and Geoffrey (Bouchard) into the breakaways in order to aim for a victory. If everything goes well with Sam, the points jersey could become a goal, but the priority remains to win stages.»

The figure
The number of stage wins in the Giro d'Italia for the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE team. After sprint victories in 2006 and 2011 by Tomas Vaitkus and John Gadret, it was Nans Peters who paved the way for successful breakaways in 2019. He was then emulated by Andrea Vendrame (twice in 2021 and 2024) and Aurélien Paret-Peintre in 2023, followed by his brother, Valentin, in 2024.
