«A very good overall spirit»

«I'm very pleased with how this Tour de France went, with a total of eight top 10 stage finishes, Felix Gall's fifth place in the overall classification, but above all a very good overall team spirit. We started with the idea of an offensive strategy, freeing Felix from expectations in the general classification, and I think that was the key to this Tour de France. We may have a few regrets because we missed out on that stage victory, but finishing in the top five in the world's biggest race is a real achievement. It's worth highlighting how Felix achieved this: by attacking at Super Bagnères and during the Col de la Loze stage, slipping into the breakaway with Bruno Armirail. The team, both staff and riders, lived up to the ambitions set at the start of this Tour de France.»

«I am very grateful for the trust the team has placed in me.»

«In the end, this Tour de France went by really quickly. The team did an incredible job over three weeks, especially on the flat stages leading up to the first rest day. I'm really happy with how things went in the Pyrenees, but also in the Alps. Once again, the team was very strong and supported me every day. Personally, I'm very happy with my consistency over these three weeks. I didn't think it would be possible to finish fifth in the general classification, given the high level of competition in the Tour de France. I'm very grateful for the trust the team has placed in me.»

The figure

Like the number of top 10 stage finishes for the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE team in this Tour de France. Several riders have distinguished themselves over the course of these three weeks of racing: Aurélien Paret-Peintre, seventh in Boulogne-sur-Mer, Bruno Armirail, fourth in the Caen time trial. Our leader Felix Gall came to the fore as soon as the road climbed, in Mûr-de-Bretagne (4th), in the Pyrenees (8th, 10th and 4th), then in the Alps, where he made it into the top five in the overall classification after two sixth places at the Col de la Loze and then at La Plagne.
