«Today's victory is very satisfying. I love the Italian races at the end of the season, with their explosive profiles. The start of the day was a bit difficult because my legs were heavy after the Coppa Agostoni, but they loosened up and I felt better. We decided to put all our eggs in one basket for the sprint. Nans Peters and the whole team did an incredible job of bringing the peloton back to the breakaway. I only realised I had won fifty metres after the line; it was very close with Tobias (Lund Andresen). We won together; it's a team victory.»
