Bruno Armirail

“I wanted this victory.”

«This is my third title and it's always just as exciting. Especially since this year, it was highly coveted. The goal was to win and we did it, so I'm very happy. I bet on a fast start and it paid off. Then I had to hold on until the finish line, despite some stiff competition. It's also a great result for the team, with Paul finishing third. At 18 years old, that's already very impressive. I think there will be more great battles and victories for him in the future. I'm now going to recover so that I'm in good shape for the Tour de France, where I'll have the pleasure of wearing this jersey at home in the Pyrenees.»

Paul Seixas

“I surprise myself every day.”

“It was the longest time trial I've ever done in my life. I felt good and managed my effort well, thanks in particular to the preparation work done with the team and my coach. We worked on the details that enabled me to clinch third place by a few seconds today. I pushed myself to the limit and didn't let up. In the end, it was a wonderful surprise and I'm very happy to share the podium with Bruno, who richly deserves this victory. I'm now looking forward to competing in the road race on Sunday, where I hope to help the team clinch a second victory in these championships.”
