On the strength of his first professional victory in the Tour du Finistère and a superb season with the Continental team, Aubin Sparfel has extended his contract for three seasons. He will officially join the DECATHLON CMA CGM WorldTour team in 2027, after one final season with the Continental team.

«A project that suits me»

«I am very happy to continue with the team that has seen me grow. Making my WorldTour debut with them was the logical next step, and I am delighted. I have been with NewGen for three seasons, with some experience at the professional level – notably my first victory. I will continue in this pattern for another year, then join the WorldTour in 2027 for two years. This extension is a sign of confidence and proof that the project suits me. The team is offering me the opportunity to compete in cyclo-cross over the next three years, with dedicated support. It's a real opportunity to achieve high goals, and I am grateful to them for that. My main goals for the 2026 season will be the U23 world titles in cyclo-cross and road racing. This is proof that the training programme is working well: we are climbing the ranks step by step, both for the boys I raced with in the juniors and for me.»

«A key player in the team's sporting project»

«Aubin will be a valuable asset to the team over the next three seasons and we are very happy to have him with us. It's rare to have a Continental team rider win a professional race as he did this year. It shows all his qualities. Aubin's contract extension symbolises the strong link between NewGen and the WorldTour team, which allows us to rely on a solid squad and develop our young riders by supporting them on their way to the highest level. Aubin has the potential to become a very good classics rider and also has plenty of room for improvement in the mountains and on stage races. We have a lot of faith in him.»

«Providing the best possible support to help them achieve their goals»

«Aubin is a rider who knows how to set himself goals, and we want to give him the best possible support so that he can achieve them. His contract extension with the Continental team will allow him to prepare for these events and continue to progress in an environment where he thrives. His schedule will be adapted accordingly, with the possibility of also competing in the U23 classics. His punching power, ambition and determination will enable him to become an excellent rider in the major WorldTour classics in the future, and we are delighted about that.»
