«I've made a lot of progress. The Giro has been on the agenda since the start of the season, so I came into this race well prepared and full of confidence. It was very tough in the final and the leaders climbed at an impressive pace. I couldn't keep up when they overtook me, then I gave it my all to try and catch up, but I just fell a little short. It was a great day for me, finishing fourth and taking the best young rider jersey at the finish. It's an honour to wear a distinctive jersey, and I'll try to keep it tomorrow, even though the priority remains the overall classification for Ben.»
