A strategy for the future
The 2025 season marks a key milestone in the DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE team's strategy, with the contract extensions of several senior riders and the arrival of new talent. This balance between experience and youth reflects the desire to build a strong and competitive team for the years to come.
Dominique Serieys
«A vision for the coming years»
«This is a strategy we have studied with a view to the coming years, and we wanted to focus on renewing the riders already in the team. I am thinking of Stan Dewulf, Pierre Gautherat, Aurélien Paret-Peintre and Nicolas Prodhomme, who are now part of the team's core and bring stability to the group. In order to strengthen the team's specific needs for the Grand Tours and the classics, we have focused our recruitment on four riders who meet these needs. Two young Norwegians, Tord Gudmestad and Johannes Staune-Mittet, have been recruited for the mass sprints and general classifications respectively. But we have also brought in more experienced riders in Callum Scotson and time trial specialist Stefan Bissegger.»

Stan Dewulf (2025–2026)
«This is my favourite team.»
«I am very pleased with the trust placed in me. This is my favourite team, and I feel very comfortable here. It embodies a family spirit with values of respect, discipline and a job well done, while allowing us to enjoy good times with our teammates. This family aspect, combined with performance, thanks in particular to the new high-level equipment, is the ideal combination for me. All the resources are there to help us progress and perform.»
Pierre Gautherat (2025–2027)
«The team has renewed its confidence in me.»
«I am really delighted to be able to continue the adventure with DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE, as the team has renewed its confidence in me. Training can continue smoothly, allowing me to focus on preparing for next year's goals. With three more great years ahead of me in the team, I am getting to know all the staff and feel right at home. It is an advantage and a source of pride to be able to extend my contract with this team, which has been with me since junior level. I hope to be able to deliver great results in the future to thank them for their confidence in me.»
Aurélien Paret-Peintre (2025–2027)
«It was important for me to stay.»
«I am very happy to continue for the next three years. I have complete confidence in the team and our partners, who have given us new momentum. It's an organisation that suits me, with people I like, both my teammates and the staff. So it was important for me to stay. One of the most important keys to continuing to perform well is the environment. With our new performance centre, I feel really comfortable and confident.»
Nicolas Prodhomme (2025–2026)
«That was my main wish.»
«I am delighted to be able to continue the adventure with DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE. It was my main wish, and signing for two more years is a testament to the team's confidence in me and the exciting projects ahead. This extension also gives me the peace of mind I need to focus fully on my preparation, with clear goals in mind for the coming seasons.»

«Taking on new challenges»
«I am really looking forward to the next two years with DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE. The team has performed very well recently and I am motivated to contribute to its success. I have been with the same team throughout my professional career and I feel ready for a change of environment and new challenges.»
Johannes Staune-Mittet (2025–2027)
«Becoming the best runner I can be»
«Of course, I'm very excited! I must say that I'm really grateful to the team for trusting me with this opportunity. This project offers me an excellent chance to improve in the best possible way, and I can't wait to be part of it, meet all the new people and learn how the team works. I chose DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE to continue to progress, and I think this is the best place to do that. My long-term goal is to continue to grow and become the best rider I can be.
